To Live and Work in Southern France
Thanks to opportunities through the Savannah College of Art & Design’s printmaking department, I became fascinated by all things bookmaking and how I could use printmaking within the construction of new books
During a residency (via SCAD) I created two artists’ books while living in Lacoste, France for a few months. The challenges with these two books— entitled Notes and Limbo respectively—was no letterpress accessibility. In this French village I used more traditional printing methods in a limited edition of each book. The production processes included the use of lithography monotypes, linoleum cuts, image transfers and laser printer pronto plates. All the materials were collected and created using nothing but solely French resources and materials. The final works were exhibited in two juried Southern France exhibitions: Spring Vernissage and Étudiants des Cycles Supérieurs.
