Prøve Gallery Honors Twenty Years of Homegrown
This exhibition was created to honor twenty years of the Twin Ports music festival and the local celebrity culture surrounding said festival. The official mascot of the festival has always been the chicken.
With an invitation-only exhibition by the Prøve Gallery, the focus for this work was to create a chicken-mascot caricature of a local celebrity the invited artists were provided—in my specific instance the person provided was Andy Miller. Who is a Duluth, MN fellow who not only has performed as a part of various bands in the festival, but also has helped with sound design at several of the performance locations that take place during the week-long festival. He has also been an avid photographer documenting the economic changes happening within the region primarily though architectural photography. In particular buildings and homes that have been vacant for excessive amounts of time.
