Home Community Ownership Beyond the Stereotype
Overlook at Battery Creek is a single-family community located in the quaint town of Beaufort, South Carolina. The entire Overlook community is a waterfront neighborhood, but its slightly inland location away from the coastline means less traffic and reduced noise from cars and boats. This master-planned community is still within a very short drive of any amenities the target audience would appreciate.
At the start of this project the only items in place for Overlook were a few business cards using a rough illustration and a couple of slicks with watercolor illustrations of the available home styles. The key attribute to the success of these pieces was the collaboration of working with a professional photographer and the actual residents as models and representatives of the newly built community. At the time of the creation of these materials, only four homes and the amenity facilities were finished. The photography, illustration, color use, and typographical work was designed to show the laid-back relaxed lifestyle of the Overlook community and the access to as much—or as little—local activity as one desired.
