Engaging Kids into Historic Adventure
Commission and creation of both an abbreviated condensed sans-serif typeface and a full upper- and lowercase brush-script typeface for The Bamboo Sword promotional book trailer. The latter typeface’s primary focus was the style merge of modern Western to Edo-period Eastern glyph styles; while needing to function legibly for younger audiences.
My focus on this project was solely “all things letters” through this commission by digital artist Joellyn Rock and book author Margi Preus. Final image and video visuals were created and assembled by Joellyn Rock and Dan Fitzpatrick.
